USA Gold Cup 2023 Overview
As the defending champions, a lot is expected of the US national soccer team. Now with more players playing their club football across more of the top teams in Europe than ever before, this expectation is rightly justified.
However, the Stars and Stripes have already announced that they will be without teir popular captain and Leeds United star, Tyler Adams.
Even with his omission and others like Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie not playing often or well at the club level, this team has enough overall quality to advance from the group. After all, the hardest task is Jamaica – a team they’ve defeated in four of the last five encounters, including the 2021 Gold Cup semi-final which they went on to win the whole competition.
