All eyes were on Qatar last November through December when the Asian country hosted a World Cup no one will forget anytime soon. And now, they travel to the United States to play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the second time. Will they do better this time after a disappointing show in front of their home fans during the World Cup? Here’s a quick look at Qatar Gold Cup 2023 schedule, including where to watch live at home or from the stands.

Qatar Gold Cup 2023 Schedule 

Qatar populates Group B along with Haiti, Honduras, and Mexico. Their first match is against Haiti on June 25, at NRG Stadium, in Houston, Texas with a 3:00 pm PST kick-off slated (6:00 pm EST).

After that, the Qataris travel to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona for their matchup against Honduras on June 29. This one is expected to get underway at 4:45 pm PST (7:45 pm EST).

Their third and final group stage game is one of the most highly anticipated from the phase as they play Mexico on July 2. This game at Levi’s Stadium in California is scheduled for a 6:00 pm PST start (9:00 pm EST).

Qatar Gold Cup 2023 Overview 

Qatar had a lackluster World Cup effort losing all three games and subsequently becoming holders of the worst-ever performance from a host nation. The CONCACAF Gold Cup gives them a chance to prove critics wrong.

The experienced Carlos Queiroz is now at the helm having left his post in Iran. He’ll be hoping to resurface the Qatari performances from before the World Cup where they won the AFC Asian Championships and performed admirably in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup. In fact, they played Honduras in that edition too and won 2-0.

While they are expected to defeat the minnows, Haiti, the game against Mexico will be a true barometer as to whether the Qatari team can hang with CONCACAF’s best.
